We walked into class, sat down and started to write our agenda down. Isaiah started to read his blog to the class. After, Isaiah was done with his reading his blog, he called me. Ms. Nakada started to talk about chapter 1 of The Outsiders. We wrote down in our table of contents. Then, we opened our reading journal and drew a plot-line. We started to talk about The Outsiders and the characters we see so far in the book. We started talking about the order of a plot-line. Then we started to write the main characters, setting, and the year of the first chapter of The Outsiders, on another plot-line. We start to describe the characters and what they are like. We started to talk about Ponyboy and what is happening to him when he is all by himself late at night. We wrote week 7 in our table of contents. Our quote of the week is, "A breakdown can be the beginning of a kind of breakthrough, a way of living in advance through a trauma that prepares you for a future of radical transformation" by Cherrie Moraga. Then, we started to write what trauma means to us. Our question was: How do you take care of yourself in stressful times? After, we all packed up and went to lunch happily.
