Today we walked into class as usual, and surprisingly, Camila Luz Sinderbrand chose me. (I have a new opp now) We then started to do reader's workshop. I decided to do IXL. (IXL is the meta guys) We then added our graduation requirements to our table of contents, and started writing them down. We then logged into LAUSD Parent Portal to check our grades. To be, honest, I'm not cooking as much this semester, so I think I gotta start to get locked in by Week 10. We then went into our literature circles-or not actually, (I wrote this in advance thinking we would). But Ms. Nakada let us pack up early and hang out. The bell rang and we all Skedraddled out of class. 

Oh yeah, and real quick, Amari and Gael cannot trademark this. The document did not mention anything about versions of your trademarked word. :)

Today we walked into class on time and went to our seats. Next, we wrote down our agendas in our binder reminders while listening to the video. Then, Isaiah went up and read his blog, and he even got us a point. But sadly, I got picked.  

After that, Ms. Nakada asked us to take out our reading journals and to start readers workshop. After that, we got our lines, and glued them in our books. This week, our lines where called, "Ain't I a Woman," by Sojourner Truth. She talked about women's rights, and made arguments that are still used today!

After our lines, we broke up into literature circles.

Today, I went into class and wrote down the agenda. After taking a minute, Luna went up and read her blog. We corrected it, and she chose me. Then, we went into reader's workshop. After a short reader's workshop, we listened to "*** Flawless" by Beyonce and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. We talked about the song and moved into our literature circles. Finally, the bell rang, and we skoodelooped with a side of Fruit Loops out of class!

Then, we did the QQSL with the question being how should we celebrate Elections day, and the song being Freedom by Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar and went through the lyrics and our favorite lines. Then, we did the Student LED paper and left class.

Today I came into class happily, because it's my birthday. I sat down, and Ms. Nakada put on a 30 second video for our take a minute. Areg read his blog and chose me after. After, Ms Nakada explain a bit about our book projects and our 8th grade trip. We then started our Quote Question Song Lines.

The question was: How should we celebrate Presidents' Day? 

After, we had a little bit of time to work on our book projects. Finally, we left for lunch.

Enjoy The 3-day Weekend

    On Friday 16, in fourth period we entered the class room to write down our agenda as "calming" music played. After a minute of sitting there and listening to the poorly composed music track dubbed by a person leading a breathing exercise, Cesar read his blog and choose me as the person to write this blog after Amari's(?) insistence for me to be chosen, so here I am writing this blog while others write their essays, read their books, or do IXL after/while the teacher checked their binders and reading journals. After, an unspecified amount of time that I used to attempt to finish my essay, we did the week six quiz, with me and anybody who paid attention for more than five seconds in class getting 10/10. Most people finished the quiz and got back to what they were doing before, at least I would hope so. We then skedaddled out of class, and I refuse to pay on account of a certain some one made it so I was chosen, even though I tutor him in math, as well as the fact it is out of your grasp to copywrite skedaddled.

I got up and started to write this blog. After all of this happened, we started reader's workshop or writer's workshop. I need to finish my essay. Quick thing, only real ones remember Prayash 🫡.Well, all we did was do reader's writer's workshop all period. Oh also FELIPE OWES ME 25 BUCKS. Then, we left.

We walked into class and sat in our seats. We then, wrote down the agenda for the day while we took a minute. Next, we did reader's workshop for five minutes. After that, we listened to the song "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keyes. After we listened to the song, we read three poems called "Sonnet 18," "1st love song to the black girl at smart camp," and "Friends" by William Shakespeare, Nate Marshall, and Langston Hughes. We then, got a little bit of time to finish our I.O. and B.A. essays. After that, we packed up and left for lunch.

Once we walked into class, we sat down in our assigned seats and wrote down the blog. Before Ray even walked up to read her blog, I knew my fate. Ray read her blog to the class (she got us a point!) and she chose me, which sucked, but, it's okay. Once I moved up to my "new" seat, Ms. Nakada went around and checked our reading journals. Before going onto our Week 6: Q-Q-S-L, she passed out papers that explain the upcoming 8th grade events. Then, she explained the papers. Once that was done, we took out our English notebooks and did our Week 6: Q-Q-S-L. The quote was, "People spend their whole lives looking for love. Poems and songs and entire novels are written about it. But how can you trust something that can end as soon as it begins?" The quote was from Natasha in The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon. The question was can you make someone fall in love? Once we wrote down our responses, we packed up and left for lunch.

We walked into class after third period, and sat in our new seats. Mariana went up and read her blog. After she finished reading, I attempted to hide my face but she, very rudely, picked me. Even after I so graciously, bought her a candy gram. Don't worry Mariana, I will get my revenge.  After that, Ms. Nakada went around and checked our reading journals, while we did readers and writers workshop. We were supposed to work on our Inside Out and Back Again essays, and I ended up finishing mine! After that, we got out our English notebooks and wrote down how to write bibliographies. We then packed up, and left for lunch.

After that, we start our body paragraphs for our Inside Out & Back Again essays and shared them with someone sitting by us. Then, we packed up and left for lunch.

HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH 

Today we walked in to Ms.Nakada's class. We wrote down the agenda, and Allison started to read her blog. After, she finished her blog she chose me because it was my birthday, and I wanted to be chosen. Next, I started to write this blog while Ms. Nakada passes out our I-Ready Middle of the Year scores. Then, we wrote down our goal for the End of the Year scores. Then, we went to our Week 5 QQSL and we listened to the song of the week. The song was called "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday. The song was about the act of lynching and how bad and horrible it was for the African Americans. After the song was finished, we started to write our own essays. Then, we skedooldled out of class. Also, if Amari tries to sue me for the trademarked word it's a different word.

We walked into class after having free play in the gym. I was so happy thinking I was gonna be able to sit at MY desk. We did blog corrections and when it was time to choose the next blogger, Xander chose me. I tried to bribe him with Takis but I guess he didn't want them. 😔 We then proceeded, to reader's workshop in which Ms. Nakada passed out our iReady diagnostic. After, we put in our middle of year iReady scores with a goal for the final end of the year iReady. Next, we did the quote and question of the week. Finally, we got ready to leave and walked out for lunch.

The day started off with everyone taking their seats. After we all settled in, we went over Sydney's blog. Then, she unfortunately chose me. I don't know why, but it didn't help that Jackie said my name. So anyways after that we did readers workshop. Then, we did the week 4 quiz. Once we finished the quiz we took out our Inside Out and Back Again essay notes. Then, we started to work on our essays. After that, we Skedad-, left class.

As the bell rang and everybody entered the classroom, Ms. Nakada told us to take out seats and listen to the calming video she was playing on the projector. After that, everyone got out their binder reminders and started to write down the agenda for today as listed above. When the whole class finished, it was time for Jackie (the previous blogger) to come up and read his blog. It was going well, until it was time to pick another blogger. I hadn't been to school due to the cold I had caught from a seventh grader, so I didn't get to do my third blog. Jackie was super duper sad that he couldn't choose the person he wanted to go next, but we both agreed on choosing Elijah as the next victim (sorry Elijah). After that hassle, I came up to the front and started to do the blog while Jackie went back to his seat. Ms. Nakada then proceeded to correct Jackie's blog for a little while. When Ms. Nakada finished correcting Jackie's blog, she told everybody to get out their books and start to read for reader's workshop. When the time was up Ms. Nakada told everybody to put their books away and get out their English notebooks since it was time to start our I.O. & B.A. essays. We got a new tan paper where we once again had to find "Fleeing Home" and also "Finding Home." After that, everybody started to pack up to go to lunch. Once the bell rang Ms. Nakada dismissed us by the quietest table, and we all skedaddled to lunch (sue me).

(I was joking please don't sue me).
