HW Happy Weekend

CreaTober starts Sunday

Today we walked into class, wrote down the agenda, and then corrected Luna's first blog. I was then picked, because I was the last one who hasn't gone, and so I started writing this blog. The teacher looked at everyone's reading journals while the rest of the class read The Outsiders. The teacher then let the class read for a couple of minutes so that anybody that hadn't caught up could. The class then discussed the chapter we were supposed to read yesterday, about how Johnny and Ponyboy were jumped, how Johnny killed someone, that Dally helped them runaway, and how they jumped a train to get to an abandoned church near a village in the countryside. We then finally did the lines and talked about metaphors and then quickly moved on to the week 7 test. Then, there was a surprise fire drill so we skedaddled out of class.

We also put a note on page 31. Skyler started to read some of page 31 and then read page 32-34. We took another note at page 35 that says, "Cherry said, 'Things are rough all over.'" HW: Enjoy the long weekend! See you Tuesday!

I walked into class and got out my binder reminder to write today's agenda. Owen read his blog from the other day, then he picked me. After over a month of safety, I got picked to write the blog. I don't think I like this decision. Ms. Nakada put on a box breathing exercise for a minute at the beginning of class to get it started. We then corrected Owen's blog, and he picked me. Ms. Nakada then collected money for pizza. After that, we transitioned into reader's workshop. The class read silently as Ms. Nakada came around to check off our binder reminder and English notebook. We then finished going over our lines "The Contract Says: We'd Like the Conversation to be Bilingual" by Ada Limon. Also, we went over the first chapter of The Outsiders. Finally, we did the Week 6 quiz and cleared out the classroom for lunch.

I walked into the classroom after period three and sat in my new seat. I wrote down the agenda and then Ms. Nakada put on a meditation breathing video. Then, Mila went up and read her blog. When she was done she picked me to do the blog. I was not surprised since I asked her to pick me so I could get it out of the way. So, I awkwardly walked up to the front and started writing this. Then, Ms. Nakada gave us time to work on our book reports since they were due the next day. I am doing mine on the book, The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo. After we took out our English notebooks and wrote, quote, question, song lines. The quote was from Sesame Street and was said by Cristo Fernandez. "Orgulloso means proud in Spanish. I am orgulloso being Latino, orgulloso being from Mexico, and orgulloso being me. As I sat anxiously, Ms. Nakada asked "Who do you want to choose Camila?" She uttered my name... Ugh! Now here I am typing my first Blog! As I sat here, they went along to do the School Trip prompts. The first being A.C.E, the second being a visual. After we turned the School Trip prompts, we went ahead and started our Book Project, in a sense. By Wednesday, we have to choose one and finish it. Then, we glued our book recommendations into our notebooks. Once that was all over, we all packed up and skedaddled off to lunch.

Next, Allisson read her blog from yesterday, and Ms. Nakada corrected it. After that, sadly, she chose me to write the next blog. Then, we got a few minutes to read our books before writing in our reading journals. Next, we started to look at a paper explaining the chapters of School Trip and what they are about, with A.C.E. prompts about every chapter. Then, we chose one question to work on in our English notebooks all together (chapter 4) . We chose the question, "How is Maury using his privilege on this trip?" We used ACE strategy to answer the question. Then, we got our own half sheet of paper to answer another Question on our own. Finally, we started the week five quiz, and everybody got working. Finally, the bell rang, and everybody left exited for lunch.

Allison had to choose someone to do today's blog, which was me. I saw it coming though, for we had talked about it before class. I might as well do it now rather than later, so here I am doing today's blog. We proceed to do reader's workshop for about 10-15 minutes. Afterwards, we did our Week 5 Lines. The poem was quite long to say the least. Within talking about the lines/poem we got a short history lesson. At two minutes left of class we started to pack up, and the bell rang. Logan only chose me because Elijah told me to. Elijah still owes me $50 dollars. We came into class for fourth period English. Logan went up and presented his own blog...cool. And then someone uncool told him to choose me. So now I'm writing this blog entry. I knew the day would come eventually. We then went over and corrected Logan's blog. Afterwards, Ms. Nakada came around and looked at everyone's reading journals. After that, we took out our books and began reading. After reading, the people who hadn't finished the IReady started it. Elijah came up to me and looked at my blog as I'm writing this. It was not pleasant. Those who did finish went on IXL. We then checked all our grades and surprisingly Elijah had an A. Afterwards, class ended, and we all skedaddled to the meal usually consumed at noon. Elijah stinks.
