Today we walked into sixth period and sat down.  We all took a minute to write down the agenda.  After the minute Landon went up and read the blog.  After he read his blog, he chose me, which I saw coming.  I walked up to the front of the classroom and sat down to start writing the blog.  After I settled we all took the week seventeen quiz.  After the quiz, Ms. Nakada had us look at parent portal to see our grades and progress reports.  We started working on our Winter Haiku's in our English notebook.  After that, we worked on our cursive alphabet in our notebooks, which was super confusing.  After all of that, we all packed up, and left to enjoy our three week break.

Homework: Set an ELA goal for the break

As we walked into class I thought that today would be a great English class not thinking that I would be picked for the blog, but I was wrong. When we entered class, Sukhari read her blog and I thought to myself that she would pick someone like Kyra, but then Allison opened her mouth and told Sukhari to pick me. I will get you back. After correcting the blog, we then started our week 17 quiz and since it was so short that i finished it in about a minute. We then checked our grades and mine were pretty good. We then procedeed to write our haiku on pieces of paper. After the haikus we all skedaddle out of class. (I have the pass.)

HW: Set an ELA goal for Winter Break. 

Today we all walked into class and sat down. Everyone in the classroom took out their binder reminders and wrote down the agenda as we took a minute. Sydney read her blog and decided that she was going to pick me to write my blog because Kyra once again bribed someone aka Sydney with some candy. But Sydney better watch her back, because I will get my get back. After that, we started our winter haikus. After that, we moved on to our hand lettering and started to write cursive. Ms. Nakada told us that she wanted us to get better at something for English, like reading or cursive. We then made a picture to go with our haiku.  Then, we all skedaddled out of class, and to lunch happily.

Week 17: Q-Q-S-L

Today, everyone skedaddled into class and sat down. We all took a minute as we wrote down in our binder reminders. After that it was time for Amari to step up and read his previous blog from the other day. Once he finished he stood up and started to think about who he was going to pick to be the next blogger. He decided to pick me since both Sukhari AND Kyra bribed him with a total amount of 16 dollars. Then he has the audacity to call me his twin. After that he sat down and we started to correct Amari's blog. Then, we all got out our English notebooks and started to continue our Week 17 Q-Q-S-L. We started to write down our lines. The lines for this week is "Good Hours" and "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost. Ms. Nakada then passed out papers so that we could glue the rest of the lines inside of our English notebooks. We then started to make adjustments to the paper with this week's lines on it. We also talked about rhyme schemes (ex. AA BB CC).  After we finished with Q-Q-S-L, Ms. Nakada told everyone to grab a book and continue to read Inside Out & Back Again. If you finished the book, you would have to take an AR quiz on it. Once everyone finished, we all packed up our bags since the bell was about to ring. Once the bell rang, we all got up and skedaddled out of class. Don't worry, I'll get my revenge Amari.

Today, we skedaddled into class and took our seats. We took out our binder reminders. Then, we wrote our daily agenda. We then did the blog corrections. Nilam was not gonna pick me, but Ben didn't shut his trap and got me picked, I'll get my get back. We then took out our English notebooks and wrote down the song of the week, "This Is Me Trying" By Taylor Swift. We wrote down what the song was about, and our favorite part of the song. We then read for a bit and talked about the book. The bell rang, and we skedaddled to lunch.

Once we entered the class, we sat down, and Felipe read his blog. For some reason Felipe picked me, even though a lot of his friends still haven't been picked yet. After he picked me, we corrected his blog and wrote down our last thing in our Table Of Contents. We finally reached week 30 and we were gonna listen to a podcast for our last week. The quote of the week was called "Besaydoo" by Yalie Kamara. The poet means Besaydoo, as a secret language between her and her mother. The question was, "Can money buy happiness?" and I honestly think it can. If I'm driving luxury cars and doing whatever I want with riches that I couldn't spend in an entire lifetime I'd be the happiest person alive. I would be modding cars and doing drag races and it would be awesome. After that we started reading our Inside Out & Back Again books by THANHHA LAI. We read until 12:43 and I got to page 242. After we finished reading, we took out our English notebooks and wrote about what we read in part two. After that, the bell rang, and we all skedaddled to lunch. And I pick the man I am gonna have to pay the trademark to... Gael.

Today I got chosen by a silly goose named Axe're. (By the way the author of the greatest book of all time Super Baby) Anyways, Ms. Nakada told us to keep our Binder Reminders out as she will be checking them. We then, started to read Inside Out & Back Again. We take out our notebooks to write down what each character is like. For example Hà  is mischievous as we see in the poem "Closed Too Soon." We get back to reading shortly after. We only read for a little because we had to take the Week 16 Quiz. After that, we sadly didn't go to lunch. 😔

We all walked into class and sat down and wrote the agenda down. Then, we took a minute, and then we corrected Hudson's blog, which he happened to not be there for. After we corrected Hudson's blog, Ms. Nakada chose me to do the blog, and I'm not very sure why. After that, we started watching a Ted-Talk about a Nigerian woman talking about African stereotypes in real life and in literature. And then Ms. Nakada gave us back our Novel Submissions printed and stapled together. We wrote down notes for it then we started our NaNoWriMo Gallery Walk. We skeddadeled to class.

First, we walked into class and sat down. We did take a minute and then wrote down our agendas. After writing down our agendas, we corrected the blog. Then, I got picked. After we did Q Q S L, and the song was "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story" by Lin Manuel Miranda from Hamilton.  We then wrote down our favorite line from the song and what we thought it was about. We got out our chrome books and went into a google docs to make our cover and about the author. Then, Ms. Nakada showed us how to submit the google docs. We all then left class for lunch.

I walked in class after beating John and Xander's team from Frisbee. *Ahem 13-0, tough loss XANDER* thinking I was gonna be able to be in my regular seat. 'TIL LOGAN... chose me for the blog. P.S. Logan you are not part of the funny list. After, I came to the front we watched a short video on 30 day challenges which we have completed twice for Creatober and the very very very long novel we had to do. Then, we got our English notebooks out for QQSL. Our quote of the week was "Success travels in the company of hard work. There is no trick, no easy way" - Coach Wooden. Next, we looked at pie charts for book publishing. Our question of the week was "Who is telling the stories, who are they about, who are they for, and why are they important?" Once we finished answering the question, we got our chromebooks out to work on our Novel Submissions. Once the bell rang, we left for lunch.

Today we walked into class as normal. Before sitting down, Sydney and I decided to swap seats, so that she could sit next to Sukhari, in return I could sit next to Isaiah *wink wink*. Ahem* Anyways, John read his pretty long blog. He put Xander on the "Funny list," which I don't know what that means, but it doesn't really matter to me. I don't even know why I mentioned it. Anyways when I thought I was safe, I saw the phrase "I choose Logan for the blog." Which is why I'm writing this right now, or well, reading this on Monday. Also John, I don't really actually have any remorse for you as I get the honor to pick someone... Anyways, we logged onto NaNoWriMo and filled out our  NaNoWriMo Reflection forms. I took a bit long because I had some side conversations with Xander (Xander you have the best cover honestly.) After a bit of waiting (I already had my excerpts and title done). We did our Week 15 Quiz. And then finally, we Skeda-. I mean we went out to lunch.
