I walked in to the classroom, and Ms. Nakada made us say trick or treat, and then she gave us candy. Mariana went up and read her blog, and then unfortunately she chose me. Since it was Halloween we did our last creatobers of the month and then did a two minute gallery walk. We then moved on to quote question song and lines. Since we had already done the quote and question we just had the song and lines to do. the song is "The Story of My Life" by One Direction. For the lines she asked us to think of our favorite first line of a novel. I chose The Outsiders which was "When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home." Then, she told us to plan how we are going to go about writing our novels. Then, we packed up and eagerly left for lunch.

Today everyone wrote down the agenda. Then, Allison read her blog to the class. After she read it, we corrected some mistakes in her blog. Then, once we finished that, she chose me. Then, Skyler shared some of his creatober drawings. After that, we set up our English notebooks for this week, wrote down the quote, and answered the question of the week. Then, we skipped essay prep and set up our NaNoWriMo accounts for our draft novels. After we did that, we went back to our English notebooks and wrote down stuff about our novels like point of views, genres, characters, and ect. Then, we all packed up and left for lunch.

Today we went into fourth period and wrote down the agenda. Mila read her blog, and then sadly picked me because it's my birthday. For five minutes, we drew the Creatobers, but no one shared. After that, we continued on the essay basics from yesterday, and then reviewed the lines of the week. It was called, "The Poverty Myth." We did the week 11 quiz and the Na No Wri Mo. Finally, we then went out to lunch.

As the bell rang, everyone scurried into Ms. Nakada's class. We sat down and Amari went up and read his blog. Marianna bribed Amari to not pick her... so I was chosen. Which kind of sucks but... whatevs! After I was chosen, we transitioned into Creatober. The Inktober was remove, the Birdtober was Emu, the Facetober was; crystal ball, white hair, and cobweb, Lastly, the rest were cozy, creature, and hug. After those 5 minutes, we went onto our Book Projects. 10 minutes passed, and we continued working on our essay basics. It is a very colorful page. After that, we went onto NaNoWriMo on Page 22! It's in November and our challenge is to write 20,000 words. It's roughly 666 words per day if you work every single day and your turn it in on the 30th. Once this class finalized, we headed off to lunch!

Today we skedaddled into class after a long three hours of testing. Owen read his blog, I asked him to pick me because I didn't have any supplies or a backpack do to the stink bombings. We started on Creatober today's prompt, dangerous, Mandarin Duck, rest, bubbles, sharp. We started on essay basics, but due to the testing, the bell rang before we got much done. We all skedaddled®out into the smelly hallway peeeuuu

Everybody walked into class and took out their binder reminders to write down the agenda. After that, we wrote and answered the question "Do you think teachers assign too much homework?" Next, we listened to the song and wrote what it was about. The song was "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman. The last thing we did was watch and finished The Outsiders. Shortly after, the bell rang, and we all went to lunch.

After that, we did our Week 11 QQSL, which the quote was "If there is a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." Toni Morrison. After that, we did the week 10 quiz, because we didn't do it on Friday. Finally, we watched a part of The Outsiders movie and left class.

When I came in, I thought it was going to be a nice minimum day. We first did blog corrections like usual. Then, when it was time to choose the next blog writer, Areg decided to choose me. I really don't know what I did to him so that he could choose me. Although it was probably because LOGAN decided to yell out and be like, "YoU sHoUlD cHoOsE aLliSsOn or Ash." I was hoping he would choose Ash, but here I am writing the blog. Anyway, next we did our CreaTober for five minutes. Finally, for the rest of the period we watched The Outsiders movie.

   We walked into class in the afternoon of Oct 19 and sat down to write down our agenda. Then, after that, once every one had sat down, we read and reviewed the blog of some one whose name I've already forgotten, which is when he chose me. The teacher then checked everyone's reading journals after which, she gave us some time to do our CreaTober's thought, I'm not doing it right now, because I'm busy with this. Then, she talked about the SLC letters we're working on for our parents for conference night. The class then proceeded to work on the letters while the teacher walked around the class to make sure we were all on task and to help some people with small breaks to do something on her computer, this continued for an amount of time that I will not specify. After this, unspecified amount of time ran out, the teacher turned on "The Outsiders" movie so we could analyze the difference between it and the book. Once the bell rang, so we skedaddled out of class.

The Outsiders: Book v. Movie

We all walked in class today, sat down in the seats Ms. Nakada assigned on Oct. 16. We then got prepared for class. Felipe read his blog, and we corrected it. You wanna know the worst part? He chose me >:( Felipe is going back on the funny little list I shall not name. The whole class proceeded into the next part of the agenda; Creatober. The topic for Creatober today was "Demon." The class instantaneously got to drawing for Creatober. After the five minutes of Creatober we went to the next part of the agenda; Week 10: Q.Q.S.L. 

The song for the Q.Q.S.L was "Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts" by The Gaslight Anthem. The song sounded like a country song. According to Ms. Nakada we have to figure out what connected to the outsiders. We started analyzing what connected to The Outsiders. The song seems to be about nostalgia of your childhood. Then, we went to watch the movie. By the way, Felipe I'm going to remind you yet again you're going on the funny little list. I choose Hudson.

Ah yes, a good day to go to class, get my agenda out, fix Jace's blog. "Felipe." Wait. What? I got chosen? NOOOOOOO!!! Man this sucks. Before I start on what happened today I want to say, "Jace, stop trying to make me play fortnite with you. I don't want to." And also, I'm not goofy... ok maybe a little. 

So anyways, today Ms. Nakada checked if we did at least 10 creatobers.  Also, the prompt was angel by the way. After she checked, we had to think about novel writing month that we will write. We have to choose a model novel to help us write a novel. Afterwards, we had to Set up our reading Journal for the week. 

Next, we did QQSL and the quote was "Experience is not what happens to you; it's what you do with what happens to you" by Aldous Huxley. Our question is "How should parents handle a bad report card?" We didn't get to the song or lines but we instead did T.O.: Book v. Movies. Ms. Nakada had some struggles getting the movie running but ended up running so we started to watch. After we ske- wait uhh I don't want any trouble uh, uh, so we all ran like Scooby Doo out the door to lunch.

Today we walked into class, and I already knew Logan was gonna pick me to write this blog. Anyways, after we finished correcting Logan's blog, we started Creatober, and everybody was very quiet until the timer went off. Then, Ms.Nakada told us to pull out our reading journals so she could check it to make sure we had our three word summary on the chapters we were supposed to read. After that, we talked about chapter 12 and how Ponyboy went to court and how unreliable he became. Also, Ponyboy is conflicted because of the two versions of himself. Then, we continued the Quick Write and did the quiz. After the bell rang, we all skedaddled to lunch.

Today we walked into class as usual, of course as Xander finished his blog HE PICKED ME. (By the way your is 2802.8612.9731.1982, unless I accidentally mixed up yours and John's) Aside from that, by the time i was out of my typing zone I realized we were already halfway talking about Chapter 10/11 of The Outsiders. Even though Johnny's death was enough, sadly Dally had to die as well. After this recap, we continued to do our "Quick Write" I was still in the middle of typing this up so I hastily went to finish mine. Time went by so fast that when I was done with my quick write I realized there were only three minutes until we could go to lunch. Not much happened after this, since we didn't do much today. Since I was bored, I stared outside the door until the bell rang. After the bell rang, we all left to lunch happily (aside from me and Xander for well uhhh... I won't say).

    The day started off with everyone coming into the class. we all sat down and got our agendas out. Then, we read Jackie's blog. Unfortunately for me, he picked me for no reason, so that made me mad. Thanks a lot Jackie. So then we did Creatober which was cool, I guess. Then, we took out our reading journals and Outsiders books. In chapter 9, the rumble was going to happen. We also discussed why they were fighting and irony. There was also the introduction of a new character. But in the end, Johnny died (sad). Then, we turned to the table of contents and wrote "Step-Up to Writing." We did a traffic light thing that went like this: Green: thesis/claim, Yellow: details, Red: evidence. Then, we did the quick write, which was an 8 sentence paragraph. There were three prompts to write about. After that, we all packed up and left. Also, Jace, stop talking about Fortnite.

We all walked into class and wrote down the agenda. While we were still writing our agendas, Gael went up and read his blog. After Gael finished reading his blog, we did the corrections. I thought Gael's blog was good, until he picked me to write the blog. Then, we did Creatober for a few minutes. After we were done with Creatober, we talked to each other about The Outsiders. Then, we went over what we read in The Outsiders last night. And we wrote our 3 word summaries shortly after. A little bit after we finished going over the question from yesterday, and the song. The song we heard was called "Hawaii '78." Then, we glued in the lines into our reading journals. The lines we put in our reading journals were from a poem called "Invisible Fish." Then shortly after we took notes about the lines. Then, the bell rang, and we all escorted ourselves to lunch.

This is my late birthday gift. Thank you Hudson and Cesar, no thanks to Elijah. Cesar went up to tell us about his blog. I agree that Felipe is kind of goofy. After Cesar's correction he decided not to choose Jace and instead chose me. We then did our week 8 quiz. We wrote down our reading journals for the week, we are going to finish The Outsiders. Ms. Nakada went around the class looking at our iReady scores. Elijah is at fifth grade level, just a fun fact. Felipe told me not to say that he's goofy even though he is. We did our Creatober for a couple of minutes. Afterwards we did our week nine Q-Q-S-L. We talked about how today is Indigenous People's Day and what that means. The quote for this week was, "It does not require many words to speak the truth" -Chief Joseph | Wallowa/Nez Perce. Our Question for the week was, "Is it offensive to use Native Americans as team mascots?" After the bell rang we all Skedaddled™ to lunchtime. Elijah stinks.

I did a forest (No I am not sharing the drawing.)  Ms. Nakada started to check our Reading Journals and Binder Reminders.         Yesterday's fourth period was a regular day, but Nilam picked me to do the blog. We started doing CreaTober since Monday, and continued it today. The prompt was path but we could choose anything. Then, we worked on Chapter 5. After that, we did our Week: 8 Q. Q. S. L., the question was "Do you read banned books" and the song was "Freedom" by Rage Against the Machine. Since it was a short day we couldn't do a lot like usual, so we did what we could. So we left class as usual.
